Our Story

Since the early 1980's, Peter Yassopoulos, Founder of PlanetBio, has worked tirelessly to unite individuals within the life science community. What began as a simple gathering to support professionals facing job loss during challenging times has evolved into the dynamic force known as PlanetBio today. From his former startup recruitment company Bio(Tech) Talent Advisors, Peter has continued to expand and adapt, fostering connections within the global life sciences community.

Laura Prendergast is an Ivy-league Biologist with a BA from Columbia University in Biology and an MS in Recombinant DNA Technology from NYU. She has performed benchwork in industry and academic laboratories, and she functioned as a Business Manager for a Neurobiology laboratory at the New York State Psychiatric Institute. Laura is the owner of an in vivo gene delivery system for HIV cure genetics.

Peter and Laura have positioned PlanetBio as a premier community and job platform for the global life science industry. Their combined 40+yrs of experience has led them to build PlanetBio.
